Welcome to the ELD NextGen Timeline – your central hub for tracking programme milestones, readiness activities and preparing for what's ahead.​

We will continue to update this page with key milestones, readiness activities and programme updates as ELD NextGen progresses, helping Members and stakeholders understand what’s changing, when it’s happening, and any actions that may be required to support a smooth transition to the new ELD.

  • Now Readiness activity: 1 (API Users)

    Your organisation must complete the Developer Portal form promptly, providing the details needed to onboard nominated developers and ensure they receive the technical documentation, guidance and Developer Portal access required for Milestone 1.​

  • Now Readiness activity: 1 (Single Policy Uploaders)

    If your organisation is planning to use the ELD Portal for single policy submissions rather than integrate via API, you do not need to complete the Developer Portal form. Instead, please contact us at ELDNextGen@elto.org.uk to confirm your preferred submission method and provide your Supplier ID.

  • Now Readiness activity: 2 (API Users)

    Full API specifications, guidance and supporting technical documentation have now been issued to nominated technical contacts to support integration planning and development activities.​

  • Live Milestone 1: Developer Portal

    Access to the Developer Portal is now open, providing technical teams with ongoing access to API documentation, testing resources and supporting materials.​

  • Future Milestone 2: Insurer Member Onboarding

    Insurer Members will begin onboarding to the new ELD following completion of due diligence and contractual activities, supported by guidance and readiness activities from the ELD NextGen programme.​

Following the information delivered in the webinars and supporting content, the full API documentation was released for technical teams to engage with, in August.

Member webinars

A two-part series of informative webinars: the first for business stakeholders and operational contacts across the ELTO membership, focusing on the next phase of delivery. The second, a technical deep dive designed specifically for technical stakeholders and programme leads involved in delivery.

25 & 26 Mar

Industry discussion workshops

ELTO Members invited to early discussion workshops, led by technical partner Softwire. These interactive sessions walked attendees through the journey of the ELD transformation and provided opportunity to share feedback and shape the direction of the new system.
